When the owner set-up her frame shop 30 years ago there were no stop lights in Kona! She tells me her hand would get tired from waving as you would know everyone you drove by...things have changed a lot but with a loyal group of repeat customers and a booming upscale housing market this frame shop in paradise is a wonderful way to make a living in a total "quality of life environment".
This business has seen a trend where the work is aimed more towards the higher end, larger, more complex framing jobs for wealthy clientele, hotels and interior designers. More than half of the existing customers (400 of the 700) are repeat buyers and continually come back for all of their framing needs. These needs include custom framing, retail frame sales, and wholesale. There are several logical means of expansion with the right buyer behind the wheel.
